Lim, who created waves several years ago in the media for his 16 A1 in the "A" Level examinations and later for doing double engineering degrees in Stanford University in the United States, said this at a press conference here yesterday.
Currently on a holiday from the US where he works for Yahoo Inc, Lim said young Malaysians studying abroad should think about how they could apply what they learn abroad to make Malaysia a better place.
He said many Malaysians struggled to adapt to the culture of other places but they should not let that stop them from studying abroad.
Lim spoke of his work in Yahoo and shared his experiences at Stanford where he earned degrees in Biochemical Engineering and Management Science and Engineering.
Meanwhile, commenting on the country's "brain-drain" issue, Lim said although it was something Malaysia should be concerned about, the government should also want the talented ones "to make an impact and gain experience in other countries as well".
Morever, there was still a huge pool of talent that had stayed back in Malaysia, he said.
"For them, it's still a long way to go. Even if the talents leave, I think they will come back eventually." -- Bernama
