The awards, founded in 2008 with Tuanku Mizan as the patron, are a leading global competition dedicated to identifying viable designs for a more sustainable future.
The showcase is an important part of Prince of Wales Prince Charles' START exhibition, which encourages the public to take simple steps towards more sustainable living.
The showcase will commence with an exclusive reception.
Tuanku Mizan was invited to tour the exhibition with Prince Charles at 6pm local time (1am Malaysian time today).
Earth Awards founder Datin Nicole Yap said they were honoured to be re-invited by Prince Charles to take part in the START exhibition.
"Last year's Earth Awards held on Sept 16 saw 500 entries from 65 countries and attracted some of the most forward-thinking institutions, such as Yale, Harvard, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Oxford and Cambridge.
"Entries were judged by a selection committee and the winners were announced at a gala dinner here.
"She said entries for this year's awards were expected to increase and the winners would be announced at a gala dinner here in February next year.
The innovations are divided into six categories, namely Build Environment, Product, Fashion, Systems, Social Justice and Future.
The winner in each category will receive US$10,000 (RM30,000) and the grand prize winner will receive US$50,000.
"The winning designers will also be introduced to investors to bring the best ideas to the market," said Yap. -- Bernama
