Renault presentó el nuevo Renault Symbol, un vehículo producido en su planta de Santa Isabel, Córdoba. Estará disponible en las concesionarias desde el 1 de febrero, desde 48.060 pesos, aunque ya empezó la preventa. Para la fabricación de este nuevo modelo Renault Argentina invirtió 200 millones de pesos en la puesta a punto de la planta.

La intención de Renault fue ofrecerle a sus clientes una berlina tricuerpo que sugiera refinamiento y elegancia. Para eso recurrió a soluciones estilísticas propias de los modelos de segmentos superiores, algo que queda evidenciado en la cola, la trompa y los detalles cromados del exterior. El Nuevo Renault Symbol mide 4,26 metros de largo y 1,43 de alto.


El Nuevo Renault Symbol ofrecerá dos motores nafteros y uno diesel. Los nafteros son 1.6, de 8 y 16 válvulas, según versión, y el diesel, el rendidor 1.5 dCi de 65 CV, que necesita sólo 5,6 litros para hacer 100 kilómetros (a 90 km/h). El motor 1.6 16V desarrolla 106 CV a 5750 RPM y un par máximo de 148 Nm a 3750 RPM, y logra acelerar de 0 a 100 km/h en 10,3 segundos y alcanzar una velocidad máxima de 188 km/h. El motor 1.6L 8V eroga una potencia de 90 CV. Su velocidad final está marcada en 183 km/h y pasa de 0 a 100 km/h en 11,8 segundos. Para poner a prueba la confiabilidad y robustez de este modelo, se realizaron diferentes pruebas de manejo por un total de 180.000 km transitados por diferentes tipos de superficie. Para analizar las prestaciones se utilizaron 40 unidades que realizaron más de 30.000 km. Y, específicamente para la evaluación acústica, se destinaron 15 vehículos con un recorrido aproximado de 5.000 km. El baúl del Symbol es amplio (506 dm3), práctico y responde a las distintas necesidades de la vida cotidiana tales como: vacaciones en familia o uso profesional.
